Weather
The National Weather Service forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 92°F. A slight chance of showers or thunderstorms is possible before 11 a.m. and again after 3 p.m. North wind around 5–10 mph should become southeast during the afternoon. The heat index may reach about 106°F.
Fishing outlook
The strongest daylight opportunity is the 9:07–11:07 a.m. major period, after the 6:15 a.m. high tide as water begins falling. Work moving water around cuts, drains, and jetty structure with live shrimp, mullet, or soft plastics. The late-evening major period begins after the 8:16 p.m. low tide and may benefit from the first incoming movement, but anglers should use extra care after dark.
Heat will be the main weather challenge. Bring plenty of water, take shade breaks, and end the trip early if heat illness symptoms appear. Leave the water immediately if thunder develops.
Coastal safety
Red tide remains a concern. The latest public reporting based on Texas Parks and Wildlife sampling found moderate-to-high concentrations from Crystal Beach toward the Bolivar north jetty, along with fish kills and respiratory irritation. Avoid discolored water and dead fish, and leave the shoreline if coughing or eye or throat irritation begins.
