Crystal Beach is mostly clear near daybreak at about 81°F. Expect a mostly sunny morning, a high near 89°F, and a chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm later in the afternoon.
Best practical window: Sunrise through roughly 10:45 a.m. The water will be falling from the early high toward the 12:09 p.m. low, and the 9:46–10:46 a.m. minor solunar period adds another favorable window. Work moving water near drains, channels, jetties, and structure. Live shrimp or mullet are sensible choices; soft plastics and topwaters are worth trying early before the sun gets high. The afternoon major period may also produce, but watch the sky and leave the water immediately if thunder develops.
Safety update: red tide
Texas Parks and Wildlife’s latest Upper Coast bulletin says red-tide concentrations had dropped to relatively low levels, with mild-to-no fish kills or respiratory symptoms and several samples showing no cells. Because a confirmed bloom has been present recently, avoid collecting dead or distressed fish, watch for discolored water or breathing irritation, and use extra caution if you have asthma or another respiratory condition. Check the current TPWD red-tide status before entering the water or harvesting seafood.
