Crystal Beach Fishing Report — October 3, 2026

Tides, Sun & Moon

  • Port Bolivar tides (CDT, NOAA station 8771328): High at 4:11 a.m. — 2.3 ft; low at 4:20 p.m. — 0.2 ft (MLLW).
  • Sunrise: 7:13 a.m. | Sunset: 7:02 p.m.
  • Moon: Last quarter, about 50% illuminated.

Best Fishing Periods

  • Major: 6:14–8:14 a.m. and 6:44–8:44 p.m.
  • Minor: 2:05–3:05 p.m. (no pre-dawn minor period is listed for today).

The strongest practical windows are around daybreak and again near sunset. The morning major overlaps sunrise, while the evening major starts shortly before sunset. Moving water should favor feeding activity, but today’s long fall from the early-morning high toward the late-afternoon low may leave shallow areas thin later in the day.

Weather & Fishing Outlook

Crystal Beach is cloudy near 78°F early this morning. Expect variable clouds, high humidity, scattered showers and a possible heavy thunderstorm, with a high near 85°F and a low near 75°F. Fish early if conditions allow, watch the sky closely, and leave open water, jetties and exposed beach areas at the first sound of thunder. Heavy downpours may briefly flood low-lying roads and poor-drainage spots.

TPWD’s latest Upper Coast red-tide update, dated September 28–29, reported no fish kills in Galveston Bay or Sabine Lake. Because bloom monitoring remains active, avoid discolored water or areas with dead fish, and leave immediately if coughing, eye irritation or breathing discomfort begins.
