Crystal Beach Fishing Report — October 31, 2026

Good morning from Crystal Beach. Here is the fishing and community report for Saturday, October 31, 2026. Times are local Central Daylight Time.

Current Weather and Today’s Forecast

A nearby National Weather Service observation at Galveston’s Scholes Field at 4:35 a.m. reported cloudy skies, about 73°F, 94% humidity, and an east-northeast wind near 9 mph.

For Crystal Beach, the NWS forecast calls for partly sunny skies, a high near 77°F, and an east wind of 5–10 mph. Showers and thunderstorms are possible through the afternoon, with a 40% chance of precipitation and locally heavier rainfall possible. See the National Weather Service forecast for Crystal Beach.

Port Bolivar Tides

High tide: 3:14 a.m. — 2.23 ft

Low tide: 2:57 p.m. — 0.04 ft

NOAA lists no additional high or low extrema for Port Bolivar before midnight. Heights are NOAA predictions for station 8771328, referenced to mean lower low water. View the NOAA tide data.

Major and Minor Solunar Periods

Major periods: 5:07–7:07 a.m. and 5:37–7:37 p.m.

Minor periods: 12:47–1:47 p.m. and 11:32 p.m.–12:32 a.m.

Today’s solunar activity is rated fair. Solunar periods are planning guides rather than guarantees of fish activity. Source: Port Bolivar solunar calendar.

Sun and Moon

Sunrise: 7:31 a.m.   Sunset: 6:32 p.m.

The moon is waning gibbous, with about 65.7% illumination at lunar noon. See the Crystal Beach sun table and moon table.

Practical Fishing Outlook

The tide will be falling through most of the day toward the 2:57 p.m. low. The 12:47–1:47 p.m. minor period falls during the last portion of that outgoing tide. The 5:37–7:37 p.m. major period is the strongest window on paper because it overlaps the incoming tide and sunset. Light to moderate east wind should be manageable, but the chance of thunderstorms and locally heavy rain is the main limiting factor. Watch radar, leave exposed beaches and jetties if thunder is heard, and wait for safer conditions rather than fishing through lightning.

Safety Check

No active NWS land or nearshore marine alerts were posted for Crystal Beach when this report was prepared. A lack of an alert does not guarantee calm surf or prevent isolated thunderstorms. Check current beach flags and local conditions before entering the water, and move indoors when thunder is heard.
